Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Engineering hosts the 8th Student Scientific Research Workshop (2026)
27-01-2026

To uphold its academic tradition and continuously improve the quality of scientific research, the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Engineering - Industry University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) held the 8th Student Scientific Research Workshop (2026). This annual scientific event helps promote student research activities and strengthens the linkage between training, research, and real-world practice in the heat-and-refrigeration sector.

An academic forum for sharing expertise

The workshop serves as a platform where lecturers, researchers, and students can present and exchange research outcomes; share approaches and experience in implementing research projects; and discuss scientific and technological issues in refrigeration–air conditioning, energy, and related fields. Through the program, the Faculty also enhances its connection between practical industry needs and the university’s research and training directions.

Attendees included:

  • Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Tâm Thanh – Head of the Faculty

  • Mr. Trần Đình Anh Tuấn – Vice Head of the Faculty

  • Mr. Nguyễn Minh Phú – Vice Head of the Faculty
along with all faculty members and a large number of interested students.

Presentation themes

The presentations focused on multiple applied research directions such as the design and calculation of thermal–refrigeration systems; cold storage, freezing and preservation; drying and food processing technologies; energy-efficiency optimization and emission reduction; as well as simulation for system design and performance uation.

Selected presentations:

  • Simulation of a solar-driven absorption chiller using the H₂O–LiBr working pair

  • Design of a reversible (cooling/heating) air-conditioning system using solar energy and thermal storage for households in northern Vietnam

  • Experimental study of infrared drying combined with electric heating elements for jackfruit processing (capacity: 5 kg/batch)

  • Calculation and simulation of a solar-powered absorption refrigeration system for ice production

  • Design calculation of a freeze-drying system for Cordyceps (2 kg/batch)

The 8th Student Scientific Research Workshop reaffirms the Faculty’s role in training high-quality human resources, advancing scientific research, and transferring knowledge to meet the demands of innovation and sustainable development.
